(yes, the picture is mine and on my DeviantArt account)

Spring is in full bloom finally.  We drove up to Royal Gorge the other day and I got to take some pictures, I was really happy with this one.  :)

I find that as an artist I seem to cycle through all my different interests.  I am curious if anyone else does this too?  It's weird too because it seems to correlate with the seasons of the year.   Not that I wont pick up a paintbrush at any time, or write a poem or whatever, it just seems that I do certain things at certain times of the year for the most part.

For example, late spring, summer and early fall I find myself really into my photography and digital art (photo manipulation, etc).  Winter and early spring it seems its painting, jewelry design and polymer clay, fall and winter are things like writing, poetry, reading and going back through last seasons pictures.

As anyone who follows me for any length of time will see, I do cycle through all these things.  I used to keep a photography blog, an art blog, a writing blog, etc but I have decided with this blog it's just all going to be in one spot so I don't have to worry about finding something to post about if I am not currently working on that current art form at the time.  This way I can be active in it with WHATEVER creative thing I am currently working on.

I just wanted to get this out there since I have started to get some followers, I hope it makes sense and I hope you can all keep up LOL :) The art prompts will always be there, I have months worth of them already put in to be posted on schedule so you can always come here for those even if you don't want to see my current flavor of the moment. :)

Thanks for reading.. hope you are all enjoying the springtime!

Weekend's Here!

Not that it really makes a difference to me that it's Friday, but for most folks it's now the weekend. My 'weekend' is during the week when the hubs is off.

I have been working on some polymer clay things that I am HOPING to get some pictures of tomorrow to get posted.  They turned out better than I expected so I am happy about that. :)

I started a small-ish painting a few days ago and then I just got stuck. Bah.  Well tonight I just went in and started adding things to it, so far its turning out better than expected.  I suppose that is always the way of things, never know how it will turn out until it's done.

I got some HUGE (3'x5') hardboards to paint on, I had wanted them cut up to begin with but the silly man said they couldn't (personally I think he was just being lazy) but I am really enjoying working with larger sized canvases so they should be fun.

Now that I finally have direction again on the un-paintable painting I will get that finished up and then start one of my new huge boards.  I have an idea for it already and am looking forward to it. :)

Hope to have some pics of things to post soon! Hope everyone is enjoying Spring so far.  Yesterday I found out we have a LILAC bush in our yard!! Lilac is one of my top favorite flowers so I was very excited! We have lived here over 2 years and I never realized that is what it was because it is small and had not bloomed before.  What a joy that was to discover that I have my very own lilac bush.  :)
